young william's graduation

We congratulate William Chism, Brad's son, on his graduation from high school from St. Andrews.  After a brief, two week respite in Europe, William will join the Zata|3 team for the summer before attending Yale in the fall.

We welcome Leslie Smith as she interns with Zata|3 this summer.  Leslie is a senior at George Washington University, majoring in Political Communication.  Leslie's experience includes Field Manager for Grassroots Campaigns, and Podcasting and Media intern for Rödl & Partner and IN Consulting.  She also volunteers for numerous service organizations.  If you catch her on the weekends, you'll likely find her at the tennis courts.  Welcome to our team, Leslie!

Facing low turnout in the Democratic Primary for Secretary of State, general consultant Dale Emmons took nothing for granted.  Dale called Zata|3 to coordinate GOTV calls with quality field and volunteer operations for Alison Lundergran Grimes on her way to a 10 point victory.  Congratulations to Ms. Grimes and Dale Emmons the rest of the campaign team.

 

san antonio school board win

The San Antonio Independent School District is facing large budget cuts and mounting tension to make sure the projects for a $515 million bond run smoothly, making the school board election last Saturday an important race for incumbent James Howard.  Moreover, the challenger raked in powerful endorsements from the Mayor and elected officials and was gaining traction in District 2.  To respond to strong opposition, Howard launched a grass roots campaign with our coordinated phone programs.  He reached out to his electorate and encouraged early voting and election day turnout.  Howard took a victory with a tremendous 63%.

This week, with our coordinated phone program and early vote push, a school bond passed in a southern state despite hefty Tea Party opposition.  The small millage increase will be matched by other government funds to build new schools and jobs to an area affected by the economic downturn.
