rising star: robert burkes

Campaigns & Elections has named Robert Burkes as one of its 2011 Rising Stars.  A prestigious honor, this award goes to those under 35 with achievement in political consulting and the promise of achieving greatness.

Rob, now 28, joined Zata|3 in January 2008.  After just one year, Rob began to manage the firm’s database systems and to oversee all areas of Zata|3’s operations, ensuring every calling program ran as planned. Rob became a principal of the firm in January, 2011. As such Rob helps set the strategic direction of the firm through his work on new product development.

With a B.S. in Psychology and an M.B.A. from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, Rob understands the implications of the academic research on the art of script writing –the added benefit of a reference to previous vote history, the social pressure of group expectations, the power of specific time or event reference in the recall of the voter—and makes sure we employ these techniques to better identify and turnout voters for clients.  Rob also understands the subtle yet distinct impact that operator gender, accent , etc. have on calling programs and has strengthened our call center protocols to minimize these impacts.

Rob now resides in Washington, D.C.
